8th Graders:

After the writing test is over, you should be fully aware that there is major change for you in store.  I hope that each of you are aware of everyone else.  Your job tomorrow is to just sit and watch everyone else.  Pay attention to the fools and remember that when your change comes, you will then be able to understand why.  I can promise you that you will not like what is in store for you.

Now I know that I have given a lot of work to my 5th and 6th period classes as of late, but that is for two reasons.  Number 1: I cannot afford to get you to far ahead.  Number 2: it occurs because you choose to do it.  I would have been just fine allowing you to sit and watch movies to allow you a bit of a break after your writing for two hours straight.  But when you decide to act like a bunch of animals, you leave me no other option.

To my original 2nd and 3rd period classes.  First, you are still responsible for getting on here and blogging at a regular pace.  Secondly, my other classes are working, but I have plans to catch you up next week.

If we are lucky, there will be a snow day tomorrow.  Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

8th Graders:

I have tried to be nice, and I have tried to be mean.  Now, I am at the point of bribery and cruelty.  5th and 6th period, I am bribing you with extra credit points.  It seems the only way to get you to work is to put a large sum of extra points at the end of easy work for you to do it.  7th period, I hope you enjoyed your work today: Copying three pages of definitions due to your lack of effort over the course of the past few days.  Thank you!  Make sure you come pick up your extra credit today after school!

8th Graders:

I know that some of you are extremely bored with the whole writing process, but you need to know that this is an important process to keep this school open for the future.  Please remember that the world is much bigger than just you.  We are doing this writing blitz in order to keep you focused because next week is it: the writing assessment!

2nd and 3rd period, I know that you will not see me very much except in passing.  I will be collecting your homework from yesterday (page 298 #1-20) when you come back.  You are still responsible for the blogging twice a week though.  I will be in the computer lab or Ms. McNeal’s class daily for the next week.

Know that the reason we review, is to brace ourselves for a test.  Be ready!  It is coming, it is just a matter of when?

Today we began to look at the Bill of  Rights in a different light.  I had you draw the definition of five of the first ten amendments.  Please remember, this will be due tomorrow at the end of your class period.  This is also a 200 point assignment!  The grade I gave you today is out of 200 points, therefore, this project, as of now, is half your grade!  Please make sure it is perfect and neat!  Do you like doing these types of assignments?
